I hope to fill this website over time with useful articles about the Via Regia/ Ecumenical Pilgrims Way in Germany which will then get linked from the FAQ here. Until this happens, here a short overview about the most frequently asked topics.
May I also ask you a favour? If you have a question that is not answered here, could you please leave it in a comment? Thanks!

Nice work 😉
I want to walk this part of Germany.
The first time I was in Dresden & Grossenhain was in 1994.
It was calm and peaceful at that time.
Nowadays Dresden is full of tourists in summer and in a way lost a part of his charm.
But prosperity is booming.
The countryside is still calm and beautiful 🙂

1994 was truly another millennium 😉 But still, in this 21st century the EPW/Via Regia is still very peaceful as well as at the same time full of history. SY

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your kind words! It is a lot of work but also a lot of fun and a perfect excuse to shoulder the backpack and be a pilgrim again 😉 Buen Camino, SY

Hi there would you mind letting me know which hosting company you’re using?
I’ve loaded your blog in 3 completely different
browsers and I must say this blog loads a lot faster then most.
Can you suggest a good internet hosting provider at a reasonable price?
Thanks a lot, I appreciate it!

Where can I find similar information on the other Jakobswege in Germany? Eg do they all have pilgrim accommodation?

Hi Rachel, fancy meeting you here 😉
A good starting point is this interactive map http://www.deutsche-jakobswege.de/wege-uebersicht.html Not all Caminos in Germany have enough Pilgerherbergen, the Via Regia and the Saxonian Way are perhaps the best equipped ones. When I walked the Bavarian Jakobswege in 2014 I only found 3 Pilgerherbergen, but a lot of places that would accommodate pilgrims for reduced prices and a lot of soft floor in parish centers 😉 Buen Camino, SY

This is brilliant! Thank you very much for putting it all together. The link to the GPS track on the German webpage doesn’t seem to work (at least for me) though, but I note that the track can also be downloaded, stage by stage, here:

Buen Camino! (How do they say that in German?)

Yes, seems the German website I linked to has some technical problems at the moment. Thanks for posting an alternative!
